Celebrex (Celecoxib)
General information
Celecoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. The medicine is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by many conditions such as arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and menstrual pain. Celecoxib is also used in the treatment of hereditary polyps.
Directions
Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Use this medicine with a full glass of water, with or without meal. Do not crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet. Swallow the pill whole. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
Precautions
Tell the doctor if you have an allergy, liver or kidney illness. Don't drink alcohol and smoking. Avoid using if you are pregnant.
Contraindications
Avoid takeing the drug if you have an allergic reaction to the medicine.
Possible side effect
Usually it can be eruption and allergy. Inform your doctor concerning new side effects.
Drug interaction
Avoid taking celecoxib together with other NSAIDs, hypertension medicines and aspirins.
Missed dose
Skip the missed dose if it is time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Overdose
Overdose can cause retching, stomach pain, giddy, coughing up blood, shallow breathing, or coma.
Storage
Store your medicines at room temperature 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C). Store away from moisture and light. Keep it out of the reach of children and away from pets.
